Conceptualised in 2022 by Chef Callan Austin and Darren Badenhorst, DUSK was created to push the boundaries of fine dining and disrupt the traditional mould, offering something fresh, bold, and unlike anything else on the South African dining scene. It is now one of the country’s most celebrated culinary destinations. Since becoming eligible, DUSK has earned Eat Out’s highest accolade of 3 stars every year, and was named Best New Restaurant in its debut. Additional honours include three stars at the LUXE Awards, two plates from the JHP Gourmet Guide, and Chef Callan has gained recognition on the global Best Chef Awards.
Chef Callan Austin leads with a bold and creative culinary vision. His menus are built around storytelling, nostalgic memories from his childhood, subtle social and political commentary, and a sense of mischief that adds charm and depth. While inventive, the food is always rooted in bold, expressive flavour.
DUSK offers two seasonal tasting menus, both showcasing the restaurant’s evolving philosophy and commitment to quality, local produce. Menus shift frequently to reflect the rhythm of the seasons and Callan’s ongoing creative exploration.
The experience is complemented by a world-class wine and beverage list curated by Head Sommelier George Young, designed to enhance and personalise each guest’s journey. Service at DUSK is refined yet refreshingly human. The team is encouraged to engage authentically, creating an atmosphere that is warm, attentive, and far removed from the stiffness often associated with fine dining.

Due to limited establishment size and diverse menu, a deposit of R800 is required to secure your booking. For bookings to be confirmed, it is essential that the deposit be paid within 48 hours of making the reservation. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the reservation. Should there be any excessive damage caused to any DUSK property, we reserve the right to retain the deposit, or a portion thereof, to rectify the damages.
A 100% REFUND WILL BE RETURNED for any cancellation or modification made by the guest no later than 48 hours prior to your booking. Please note that if guests are 30 min late for their reservation without notice we reserve the right to cancel their booking.
In the event that a reservation is made for a specific number of guests and fewer than the reserved number attend, we reserve the right to retain the deposit for those who do not arrive.
Our menu caters to various dietary preferences and restrictions. While we are unable to provide options for vegan, halal, celiac, sugar-free, and fat-free diets, we are pleased to accommodate vegetarian and pescetarian choices. Additionally, we offer alternatives for those with gluten intolerance and basic allergies, including shellfish, nuts, and eggs. Please be aware that our food may contain or come into contact with common allergens.

Please note that children from age 12 and up are welcome to join us for dinner and are permitted to enjoy the tasting menus offered.
